With the off-season now in full swing, we all know how quickly that time can pass so preparations for the 2019/2020 season have already started. We have a tentative calendar for now, currently with 10 shows set for Springs Speedway, we are still working very closely with the RFA to try and secure at least 1 more show to be added to the calendar at a later date.
All the big shows have been locked in, including the United Truck Parts International Midget Series and Porter Hire Sprint Car Series.
Opening night looks set for Saturday the 9th of November as well as a grand fireworks display to mark the beginning of our 90th season at the historic venue.
Springs Speedway will also host three national titles this season, with the North Island Midget Title set for Saturday the 14th of December the same night as the second round of the Porter Hire International Sprintcars. December will also see our clay invaded by our overseas visitors in both the Midgets and Sprintcars starting from the 7th of December through until the 5th of January 2020. Side by side the North Island Sprintcar title will be run along with the prestigious United Truck Parts International Midget Series King of the Springs 40 on the 3rd of Jan, finishing off with the United Truck Parts International Series World 50 lapper on the 5th January.
February sees the Barry Butterworth Fastest from the back. This meeting is a fan favourite and will run alongside the New Zealand TQ Championship, with all the action on one night this is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Rolling Thunder will also shake the stadium again at end of February, and our final night extravaganza is set for early March.
Car owners, drivers and crews are working hard now with rebuilds and final touches alongside the team at Springs Speedway to amalgamate, what’s going to be another fast paced and action filled season on the dirt.
Please remember this is a tentative calendar only and is subject to change.
