The Porter Hire International Sprint Car Series will be the first of the international series to get underway this season with round 1 on 1st December at Western Springs.
The competitors then head south to Bay Park Family Speedway on Tuesday 4th for round 2, then on to Robertson Holden Speedway Palmerston North running on Thursday 6th. The final round is back at Western Springs on Saturday 8th December.
This Series boasts a total prize pool of almost $80,000 with the largest pay-out on the final round with the winner taking home a cool $10,000.
This year we welcome back USA drivers Kyle Hirst and Shane Stewart. Both drivers enjoyed their time here in New Zealand, in fact so much so they are bringing their families this trip. Shane was the overall winner last year, so he is keen to show everyone that wasn’t a fluke.
These two will be joined by Australian’s Jamie Veal and Troy Little. Both drivers have impressive CV’s and they expect to take it to the Kiwi and American drivers.
“Its always that little bit easier when your driving your own car” said Jamie, “you get straight into your groove especially having your Crew Chief around too”, he said.
The Kiwi drivers start their campaign on Opening Night in their attempts to be selected to represent New Zealand. The team’s racing is scheduled for all 4 rounds with the winning team taking home a cash bonus each night.
With a Sprint Car field approaching 40 cars, the Porter Hire International Sprint Car Series will be one to witness, as only 50% of those starting will make the all-important Feature Race.
