The 2018-2019 Century Yuasa Kiwi Kids class is bulging at the seams with 24 drivers confirmed for the season ahead. The full list of drivers is posted on our website – http://springsspeedway.com/about-speedway/drivers/
The class has steadily increased over the last few years which is encouraging given the number of young kiwis wanting to get into motorsport and speedway is a great choice given the profile it has enjoyed in recent years.
There are several new initiatives being adopted by the class which is leading the way when you compare it to other entry levels of motor racing. These initiatives include a new stock standard engine program which has made the sport very affordable, and the all new ‘mentor program’ used at Rosebank Road to ensure that all competitors are ready to race at Western Springs. All are important steps to ensure that everyone enjoys their time in this class.
“I’m looking forward to seeing them all drive out onto the track at Western Springs in front of the crowd”, said Greg Mosen – Promoter, “its often more stressful for the parents than it is for these young drivers” he said.
This year we will see each show kick off with the Century Yuasa Kiwi Kids starting at the earlier time of 5:45pm each night, so make sure your ready to go, as you can be sure they will be.
