One World 50 Lap Classic Victory is simply not enough for the defending Champion, as Christopher Bell aims to be the first American driver since Jerry Coons Jr (almost a decade ago) to go back to back in the biggest midget race in Australasia.
Making his third international series appearance, Bell is arguably the best Midget driver on the planet. The three-time defending chili bowl champion has followed Larson into the NASCAR ranks and will drive the #95 Leavine Family Racing entry in 2020. Another Keith Kunz graduate, Bell won the 2013 USAC Midget title, making his inaugural Midget series appearance at the conclusion of that season.
Bell won in his first ever appearance at the Springs, taking boxing night glory in late 2013. His other win coming in the very last race of last years series, the World Midget 50 Lapper. Bell recorded three seconds in last year’s series, the most memorable a sensational drive at the BC39. Having qualified via the semi-main, Bell flipped but was able to restart, coming through the field to finish a narrow second to Larson. Bell also recorded victory in a Sprintcar division here last season and has five World of Outlaws Sprintcars win on his resume.
Bell will be behind the same wheel as last year, a King / TRD with the experienced Shaun Insley turning the spanners.
